The Polish.....The Details
The design goal was to replicate original
styling, detailing and beauty found throughout this
1920's home while infusing updated technology and
function! It is always important when designing, to
create a space that still looks like it belongs with the

Total gut bathroom, everything out except the original
cast iron tub which we had glazed by a trade partner!
A more functional version of the original built-in linen
closet was custom built into the original alcove
allowing for complete use of the space. The doors for
the built-in linen closet were custom built by me to
replicate those in the vanity my client chose.

subway tile design for the shower/tub walls and a
mosaic weave design with subway border for the floor.
In the shower/tub walls, a strategically placed mosaic
inlay at the top accentuates the wall height and is
capped off with a marble crown molding. Underneath
the gorgeous weaved marble floor, radiant heat keeps
your toes nice and toasty at the temperature you
program into the thermostat! The finish carpentry was
created to replicate original trim throughout the 1920's
home. The beauty of a Soapstone counter-top, which
was fabricated by my trade partner Hallmark Stone,
captures your attention! Catching the light so
beautifully in this classic bathroom, are the Grohe
Swarovski crystal faucets, towel rings, robe hooks,
crystal ceiling mount globe, and the mosaic tile style
